Travel style - The basics
Updated: May 27, 2020
Whether it's a long haul flight or a weekend road trip these are the things I always have handy.
As a planner I love making sure I have everything I need to make traveling a breeze. See what my essentials are when I travel. Wether you are going on a weekend get away or a month of galavanting from place to place here are the items I love having at hand and how I get them from place to place.
I am such a planner that I LOVE packing almost as much as the actual vacay! There is nothing more satisfying than a well packed and organized suitcase.
For longer trips I love this IT Luggage light weight suitcase. I found it at Marshalls and it weighs nothing! That means you can pack more! As someone who is a chronic over packer, it lets me pack that extra pair of shoes or small bag of accessories.
If you are looking for new suitcase, check out Marshalls and TJ Maxx! They have a great selection of large and small luggage.

Even though I stated that I am an over-packer, if I am traveling for less than week I prefer not to check a bag when flying. here are the essentials I have on hand when taking those short trips.
For week long trips I always use my sleek black rolling carry on (also from TJ Maxx). This Olympia carry on is perfect for every travel outfit. It's perfect for a weeks worth of clothing and toiletries. I also attached this super cute luggage tag from R. Nichols.
I've searched and tried many hand luggage weekender bags and I always come back to this LL Bean Boat and Tote. You can easily pack all the essentials in this large capacity bag. I use this bag when go on weekend trips and it makes a great personal item for week long trips.
For quick access items my Fossil cross body is my go to! It's just big enough to hold you passport, wallet, phone, boarding pass and all the little extras. This is also a great bag for running around NYC on the weekend or nights on the town!
There are just some products that make being away from home just a little easier. It's super important to keep your skin hydrated so I always keep Glossier Balm Dot Com and Priming Moisturizer ready. My other favorite that can help you go from looking tired too wide awake is Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara™ by Thrive Causemetics. My favorite scent is Rose so I love having this rose mini perfume on hand. It's the perfect size for travel and keeps you smelling like a bed of roses, literally. Also who doesn't need a good scrunchie on hand. Here is the link to where I got mine.
A short list of things I find useful on trips long and short would include a pack of cards, headphones, portable phone charger (I use a mophie powerstation), extra minty gum (my favorite is Airwaves Menthol & Eucalyptus),Chic and Tonic silicone straw, and a reusable water bottle (usually my Hydroflask). One day I'll write about how I got my Hydroflask for FREE!!! All I'm saying is I'm not above dumpster* diving.
